Curriculum
The role of a creative leader is not to have all the ideas; it's to create a culture where everyone can have ideas and feel that they're valued. -Ken Robinson
Because I have a core belief that technology enhances opportunities for students, I have provided access to curriculum in ways that were not preciously conceivable with a "paper-only" approach. My class is not limited to the books in our classroom library, to the worksheet formula too often seen in elementary schools, nor are we held back by our classroom walls. Instead, we are able to find answers to our questions if we can't find them in books. We are able to create work by synthesizing the information we gain from multiple sources and then evaluate the quality of each other's products. And above all else, we are able to "access" field trips to National Parks to learn about fossils, Skype with professionals that know about our topics, find multiple sources for the best information, share our work online with our classroom and school, and so much more.
Technology has opened the door of opportunity for my students where real growth and learning occur each day, no matter how far ahead or behind a state test tells them they are. Everyone can access what they need.
